CCMA is excited to welcome Kyrstyn Devlin to the CCMA community as one of our AmeriCorps VISTA Leaders!

Kyrstyn is a native of New Haven, CT. She recently received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with minors in Psychology and Women’s & Gender Studies from Southern CT State University. While pursuing her degree she was a Resident Assistant, Undergraduate Research Associate for Yale School of Medicine Dept. of OB/Gyn, volunteer at a residential treatment facility for older adults, member of AmeriCorps Prevention Corps, and presented a multiple undergraduate research conferences exploring special topics ranging from “The Black Panther Party in New Haven, CT” to “Implications of Social Vulnerabilities on Hurricane Katrina: Exploring New Orleans’ Unnatural Disaster.” Over the last year she was a direct care worker for a child and adolescent crisis stabilization program and completed a 400hr field placement working in a special education program for children with sub-acute psychiatric disorders, emotional, and academic challenges. She is excited to support the efforts to combat poverty through service learning, advocacy, and community organizing.
