Welcome AmeriCorps VISTA Leader Gabbie
CCMA is thrilled to welcome Gabrielle Dibonge to our team as an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader for the 2019-2020 year!
Gabbie has earned an MBA in Human Resource Management from Carlow University. Gabrielle obtained a dual undergraduate degree in nonprofit management and public relations from Slippery Rock University in 2012. She previously served as Center Director for Higher Achievement Pittsburgh, an organization that gets young scholars college and career ready starting from middle school, and where Gabrielle worked directly with disadvantaged and underrepresented youth and their families to motivate them and to bridge the higher education opportunity gap. Gabrielle has a passion for helping people to personally and professionally grow and develop. She has been a long-standing volunteer with the Patcha Foundation, working behind the scenes on marketing and social media endeavors. Last year Gabrielle was pleased to present on her experience as a pre-menopausal breast cancer survivor, and to join the Patcha Foundation as Junior Board member. She also created the #LoveMyself campaign to promote prevention and the early detection of cancers. Gabrielle hopes to use her degrees to continue to serve and work with youth in minority and low-income communities to eliminate educational disparities, create equity and stability, promote professional development, and advocate for access to healthy lifestyles options.
