CCMA Welcomes New VISTA Members to Team

August 24, 2021

CCMA is pleased to welcome two new VISTA members working directly on CCMA initiatives.

Nisa Burns is joining the CCMA team as a communications coordinator VISTA member. Nisa hails from Central Massachusetts and is a recent graduate of Cornell University whose studies brought her to Myanmar to do work on a minority language project. As the CCMA Communications Coordinator VISTA member, her task is to increase CCMA’s capacity to reach a larger percentage of students, increase institutional membership, and increase visibility and brand-recognition with non-member institutions, corporate, and community partners.

Kate McGeehan joins the team as an Grants Acquisition AmeriCorps VISTA for Collective Impact. Kate grew up in Frederick, MD and is passionate about Maryland public schools. She graduated with a degree in English from William & Mary. This will be her second AmeriCorps service year, after working in a domestic violence shelter in Portland, OR. She is working with the Collective Impact team mainly to secure grant funding to increase sustainability of the initiative.
