Getting Started with Service-Learning Join faculty colleagues to explore service-learning as a high-impact educational practice for courses in all disciplines at a workshop led by Dr. Barbara Jacoby. Register now This interactive workshop will serve as an on-ramp for faculty members new to service-learning and will enable those who have had some service-learning experience to dive deeper into the pedagogy. It will address three of the most frequently asked questions about service-learning: (1) What exactly is service-learning and what does it look like across disciplines? (2) So what are its benefits to students, communities, faculty, and universities? and (3) Now what? How do I get started? Participants will work through a step-by-step Service-Learning Course Design Worksheet. Those who are teaching a service-learning course or seeking to integrate service-learning into an existing course are encouraged to bring their syllabus. Join us for a day of learning about difficult conversations, managing triggers, and privilege. Exploration of our identities is essential to our growth as individuals, our relationships with others, and our ability to co-create a socially just and equitable society. 2018 Presidents’ Institute and 10th Anniversary Celebration

Purpose The annual CCMA Presidents’ Institute serves as a platform for the collaborative efforts of presidential leadership, K12, and community partners to address issues critical to the region. This year, the Presidents’ Institute will explore the intersection of college, career, and civic readiness to strengthen communities by convening the region’s presidents, superintendents, and other leaders in a conversation about the structural/systemic issues impacting education in our region, and how civic and community engagement could enhance college, career, and civic readiness for K12 and higher education students.
